Audiofile from salon, a music blog that i used to follow, has apparently discontinued in July 2007... and i had no idea! these days i don't much know whats up in my life, other than somehow getting by each day with sleep to dream and drinks to forget. where is music for the soul? where is the heart to love? where is my life??

talked to pri randomly and in the spur of the moment conversation i caught a glimpse of excitement in her daily work at cincy. sad face. as part of engineering they went to the GYM (p&g version of IDEO) for a brainstorming session of new product development. so upstream so much in flux. reminded me once again i would love to work for the impossibly competitive ideo office, and i would love to give up everything i have (so much yet so little) to start all over.

somedays i can see myself in p&g, talking corporate lingo, maybe move into an unimaginably cool job with the consumer product giant monopoly if do my job right and play my cards well... somedays i wonder why im trying my luck at all. somedays i just wonder.

its like finding the right guy... do you go for someone thats too safe, thinking someday one of you will change, and pray that you wont someday fall OUT of love?

大理，丽江，束河是已经开发旅游多年的古镇。 本来户户人家过着纯朴而简单的日子， 现在将门面改成了向游客兜售银器，茶叶，染布，皮具，的店铺。 初来乍到看似新鲜， 稍逛片刻便看穿了缺乏特色，商业气息浓厚， 却一一重复的店面。 就像南京的夫子庙， 古典建筑四周弥漫着纯粹因旅游而形成的俗气， 却又因其民俗特色而吸引了更多的游客。 固然， 用心发掘还是有些意外惊喜的， 两个艺人让我改变了对古镇的印象。

在束河，一个来自————的男人在小小的桌面上摆设了数十架细铜丝绕出来的巴掌大的单车，独轮车，三轮车， 以及一些彩色铁丝制作的各式耳环。 我凑上前去， 拿起一架自行车， 只见各部件制作细致而逼真， 轻轻推着向前进， 轮子与脚踏板一同转动。 这样的工艺价钱当然不会低，但他却漫不经心　不讲价，　我还是动心买了一架三轮黄包车。 谁知这时， 他问我那么你觉得值么？ 想再接着看么？　嘿　他转身又摸出几个盒子　打开给我们过了瘾。　摆在眼前的是一架比一架小巧的自行车辆，　铁丝细如发丝。　这时他一一介绍起来：　龙头面对面的双人车好像向左走，　向右走，　有缘必相遇；　红色的心形铁环中镶着一辆老式大轮车，　就是我心依旧。。。　他又说到每辆车制作需起码一个礼拜，　而设计又是很多次的失败后慢慢琢磨出来的，　比如需要几根铁丝，　怎么个绕法可以美观又牢固。　真的很有意思，　我不禁又向他索取了几件收藏。　后来得知他与太太出来旅游，　在丽江住上半年，　路费就是这样维持的，　所以卖一件得能维持一阵子吧。　价格虽贵，　但愿者上钩，　就算我支持他的生活方式　收藏他的手工艺吧！　

随后在丽江无意逛进了客栈对面的一家木雕店。　木雕也算是丽江的特色商品之一，　很多家展示着大大小小的平面和图腾式作品，　均为花鸟楼阁图案，　雕刻精致，　上色考究。　但这一家的普遍题材为抽象图腾脸谱，　面具，　及人物，　线条大胆，　棱角鲜明，　木头表面平滑却不圆润，　暗淡色泽淡淡的透出古红色。　可以说是木雕里黑白色的毕加索。　步入小店好像走进原始森林，　处处不时地会噌串出一个个武装过的土著人面孔。　这一个个看似并不美观，　而且很难融入现代室内装修的木雕，　偏偏分布在丽江古城内的三个分店里。　有意思的是店主，　也就是雕刻原创人，　是纳西人，　姓木，　他的店就叫木头人。　他介绍自己说他话不多，　由创作表达自己。　他强调在当其他本地人商业化后 为更容易被广大游客接受而改变自己风格，　他任坚持自己的作风，　创作独特的原始作品。　我将在老木刀下变的神态百变的木桩一个个看过来，　只可惜已身无分文。　不过我留下了木头人的名片，　记下了老木的博克，　也许今后有机会在加入收藏。　

i owe myself a heartfelt entry. but before i can gather the time and my thoughts to write, i stumbled upon an entry from gxy, who puts it best:

stumbled upon takoyaki on flickr

and its making me hungry like no other... if i remember correctly, these are meatballs made from octupus, fried in what looks like mini muffin pans. i had them for lunch one day in taipei. taiwan was a huge hub of ethnic food, in particular japanese. usually its served with various topping and dressing choices, and just pop these little things in your mouth!
